Palermo combines a very easy urban cruise arrival with a dense historic centre: Norman, Arab, Baroque and market culture are all within a manageable independent day.

Ships dock directly alongside the quays in the Port of Palermo along Via Francesco Crispi. Depending on your cruise line, you will dock either at the historic Stazione Marittima (Dock Vittorio Veneto) or the modern Sammuzzo Terminal (Varco Sammuzzo), which serves MSC and Costa vessels. There are no tender boats required.What is nearby: Stepping out of the port brings you within minutes of waterfront boulevards, local cafes, and the beginning of Palermo's historic quarters. ATMs and tourist info desks are available inside the terminal buildings.
To the town centre
Can you walk? Yes. Exiting the terminal gates puts you right on the edge of the city. Walking into the historic center takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes.Shuttle Bus Pick-Up & Drop-Off Details: Because the port is so close to town, mandatory internal port shuttle buses are generally not needed for city access. Official taxis, hop-on, hop-off sightseeing buses, and tour vendors are stationed directly outside both terminal exits.
